“Alien: Romulus” takes the phenomenally successful “Alien” franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe. The film stars Cailee Spaeny (“Civil War”), David Jonsson (“Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy”), Archie Renaux (“Shadow and Bone”), Isabela Merced (“The Last of Us”), Spike Fearn (“Aftersun”), Aileen Wu. Fede Alvarez (“Evil Dead,” “Don’t Breathe”) directs from a screenplay he wrote with frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues (“Don’t Breathe 2”) based on characters created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett. “Alien: Romulus” is produced by Ridley Scott (“Napoleon”), who directed the original “Alien” and produced and directed the series’ entries “Prometheus” and “Alien: Covenant,” Michael Pruss (“Boston Strangler”), and Walter Hill (“Alien”), with Fede Alvarez, Elizabeth Cantillon (“Charlie’s Angels”), Brent O’Connor (“Bullet Train”), and Tom Moran (“Unstoppable”) serving as executive producers.

    ✅ Who’s getting facehugged ✅ Who’s getting chestbursted
  • Fede will do his damnedest to make sure that we will be COMPLETELY uncomfortable during this entire movie....and I will be there for it. Love the little call back to Ripley with You Are My Lucky Star.

I miss when trailers were half a minute long and gave nothing away!
  • Trailers get better and better every time cause they now show you the entire narrative in 2+ min. without you having to pay a cent for it. Thanks!

Playing my lucky star after Ridley sang that in the original is golden

Lots of Alien:Isolation vibes here, and that's a good thing considering it's been the last decent piece of Alien media to come out since ALIENS.
  • I find it so strange the way all Hollywood and streaming series writers and production designers now seem like the same ones... Imagine the original masterpiece from 1979 having fresh-faced kids carefully covered in obvious make-up trampling on it's stunningly crafted suspense scenes with cheaply read lines like, "WTF was that?". It's as if they can't stand the idea of a character just being quiet and the actor actually acting the suspense with the visual media of film. It always has to be teenagers going, "Oh em gee!" or something. And why does every character in literally everything look like a Gap model or something? The original movie looked lived in, dirty, grimy, real, and the characters felt like real complex and interesting people, each really unique, not homogenous and bland Instantgram posers that always just look like actors acting. Well, at least this looks like everything else from Star Wars and Star Trek to any other production that all use the exact same templated camerawork, editing, lighting, set and costume design and so on and so on... Also, the whole Alien thing has been done. There is nothing fresh or of any real value to add to these stories, they've been done and frankly done todeath at this point too. Create your own new and original films. The whole reason masterpieces like Alien were so great and popular in the first place was because they were highly original at the time, fresh and bold new ideas. Not just repeatedly copying the same old things ad nauseam to spin out franchise profits without any need for hiring and paying real artists and craftspeople to do anything fresh, daring and surprising with their fiction works.

Maybe the Trailermakers should checkout the original Alien trailer. It's a helpful guide on how to not give away huge chunks of the film.

Apparently in this future, no one over 25 operates highly complex sophisticated space vehicles

Take me back to the days trailers were done in the 80's or early 90's.
