It's actually really good that he shows the importance of letting pies rest, and also the importance of proper utensils. That's why almost every kitchen drawer has a slice-shaped spatula.

DON'T THROW OUT THE OVEN! Just use a vinegar and water mixture. Let it come to a light boil for 30 minutes to an hour and use a tough rough sponge (not steel wool).

DIshwasher detergent is alkaline, and the cakepan is made out of aluminium. You dissolved the surface a little bit and it got more porous which gives a matte look to it.

I love this dude so much. I don't know how he strikes with the same monotone subtle humor and still catches me with the silliest things like the granulated sugar and brown sugar in the last recipe.

His wishes for everyone at the end was just so wholesome. Enjoy your favorite season, FutureCanoe!

What I love about Canoe's videos is that almost all his ingredients in the recipes, albeit looks unappetizing, are easily found and some you might have lying around at home for ease of cooking. Like he even substitutes ingredients for easier access. Most cooking videos on this platform are titled as 'easy to make' then say "you need this extremely rare spice that can only be found in specific islands in the Caribbeans, if you don't use this, you're just cooking literal shit. "

As an Italian, never seen anyone do that particular style of apple pie. In my family is usually done with thicker slices and way more batter, and it's a lot more cakey. Or a strudel, which is also very popular in northern Italy

When I make a pie crust, I actually freeze the butter and then use a cheese grater. It's a bit difficult, but you get the perfect size pieces of butter in the final dough.
