First 36 minutes explains why traditional weight loss methods don't work. Lower metabolic rate (metabolism) is basically the culprit. Then he goes over specific causes and fixes for having trouble losing weight. 36:09 - CAUSE: Inflammation (which is driven by excess bad gut bacteria, free fatty acids, and lactic acid) 44:21 - FIX: Reduce lactic acid with vitamin B1 45:36 - FIX: Limit free fatty acids by lowering stress, recommends Pregnenolone, aspirin, and/or vitamin B3 52:11 - FIX - Lower bacteria and seratonin in the gut with daily satisfying bowel movements, recommends vitamin D and Greco Gum 55:00 - CAUSE: Poor liver function (liver is unable to detoxify everything listed above) 56:29 - FIX: Correct the gut issues listed above (liver and gut health are related) 57:16 - FIX: Inhibit inflamation, lipolysis, estrogen antagonization, and protect liver with vitamin E and vitamn D. Recommends a high quality brand. 59:48 - CAUSE : Diet with too much starch, poor oils 1:02:55 - FIX: replace starches with sugar. Doesn't really go into how you would do this practically 1:04:02 - FIX: Cocount oil is better than other oils for weight loss 1:04:56 - CAUSE: Poor thyroid health, specifically low levels of the T3 hormone and production of Reverse T3 instead 1:08:57 - FIX: Optimize thyroid function by lowering free fatty acid in the body (above) and managing estrogen levels 1:09:17 - FIX: Optimize thyroid function by taking B vitamin complex 1:09:42 - CAUSE: High stress and high cortisol. FIX: Doesn't provide practical examples 1:13:18 - CAUSE: Obesogens in the environment. Environmental pollutants that increase estrogen and are stored in fat. More fat = more pollutants in the body. FIX: Doesn't provide practical examples, but the onscreen graphic indicates things to possibly avoid. 1:14:33 - CAUSE: Insulin resistance FIX: Doesn't provide practical examples. 1:15:40 - CAUSE: Imbalance of androgens and estrogens (essentially raising testosterone) 1:17:50 - FIX: lower the enzyme aromatase by reducing polyunsaturated fats, inflammation, endotoxins, and seratonin (everything listed above). Recommends zinc, vitamins D and A, Pregnelolone. Requires more saturated fats in the diet. 1:18:50 - Overview, offers customized consulation as a service through Patreon.
  • All true. My personal experience has been that ever since I started working a rough job I gained ~15kg and my strength in the gym actually DECREASED. Lately I've been working a bit less but most importantly I've stopped overtraining, much like you I've been experimenting with HIT, and I'm getting leaner every week while my strength is coming back! Overtraining is very rarely something you hear that will cause weight gain, but it's definitely a possibility. Keep up the great videos man.

Action plan: - If you are not already, start building muscle at the gym. Make sure protein is adequate (don't over do it). - Fix thyroid. - If you have gut issues, those must be resolved first. 1. Stop feeding bacteria. Eliminate resistant starch, add saturated fats to starch and cook them well. 2. Promote bowel movement. Coffee, cascara, baking soda? 3. Kill excess bacteria. Carrot salad (or cooked white button mushrooms or bamboo shoots) with coconut oil, mastic gum, flowers of sulfur, methylene blue, and as a final resort penicillin, tetracycline, macrolides. 4. If necessary, absorb endotoxin with activated charcoal during die off. - Increase saturated fats. Zero seed oils. Limit olive oil, avocado, macadamia. Coconut oil whenever you can. - Increase carbs, reduce fat. Fruits and well cooked starch. Refined sugars is fine but will likely need to supplement B vitamins. - Heal your liver. Vitamin k, coffee, taurine, sugar. - Keep PTH down. Ideally 2:1 calcium phosphate ratio. At least 1:1. - Walk a lot at comfortable pace, get as much sun as possible. Supplement D and red light when you can't get sun. - Be patient. If you're doing it right, weight loss will be very slow. Let me know if I forgot anything.

Amazing video man, thank you so much for breaking everything down in an easy to understand way. Even though I knew some things I didn't realize how big the picture is.

New to your channel but familiar with Fire in a Bottle, excited to hear a conversation with you two.
  • @Bronasaxon
Whit I appreciate all the time and effort you put into this, can I get a TLDR for what to do to lose weight?
  • @masonryjoe
You have a new sub here, thanks for all the info! It is good that you are not following the herd, you gave lots of good info but not really a plan of attack, I just tried carnivore for a month and a half and felt better, and some issues cleared up but didn't lose weight, so I started adding a few days of carbs, not a tone but maybe 200 to 300 grams and I am starting to drop some weight, it blew me away that studies showed high sugar is the way to stay lean, but I have heard so many other DR's say that sugar is linked to cancers and inflammation, you name it, it's the devil, so I cut it all out ? So I'm a little perplexed right now, one thing that designated with me was that higher sugar in the blood, I'm not diabetic but pre I guess you would say and when I was strict carnivore my blood glucose would still be a little high, and I found that strange, I’ll keep listening as I think you might be on to something here, I am looking for a plan of attack as to what to eat in a day, I'm surprised with all your knowledge you don't know Dr. Peter Attia's work ?

I grew up fat asf, 200lbs+ since 12, i’m 19 now, started fasting + exercising and i’ve dropped down to 170lbs, still have bad body fat est(25%-30%) but I am starting to see my abs. I agree with pretty much everything you’ve said but personally it was the realization that my fat is just a bank vault of stored energy for my potential. This changed how I looked at everything.
  • Good afternoon, brother. Nate sent me this protocol thread and video on Txitter. Starting it. I have been fat for a long time and lost a ton of weight, but it ALWAYS comes back. God bless
